I love eggnog.
I always have, and in my experience, adding alcohol to eggnog always seemed to make it worse rather than better. That is until, several ago, I found Alton Brown’s aged eggnog recipe and knew I had found a new winter tradition.
Here is the recipe: https://altonbrown.com/recipes/aged-eggnog/
However, I usually make large batches, and sometimes give it as gifts, so I decided to have a little fun and vibe-code a calculator that let’s you adjust the volume any way you’d like and lets you print an ingredient list, and a shopping list.

Some notes on the eggnog itself:
You’ll want to wait about 2 weeks before you start drinking it. This is both because it allows the alcohol to kill any bugs in the raw eggs, but also the taste when it’s fresh is quite harsh and it mellows over time.
I think aging 4-5 weeks is the sweet spot for consumption, but it will keep forever if refridgerated. I have sampled it 1, 2, and 4 years later and it’s delightful, but the taste doesn’t change much after the first 2 months of aging.
